Mending Broken Branches

-Cindi Williams-Hills contacted me in late 2025 to create a logo and website for her new nonprofit, Mending Broken Branches.

Mending Broken Branches focuses primarily on fostering connection between children & parents early in childhood through reading. With this in mind, as well as the arboreal theme implied by the name of the nonprofit, I developed a logo inspired by these concepts.

The trunk of the tree gives way to side profiles of a mother and father, looking down at their child between them. The child looks up with joy and excitement at the canopy above him, which is littered with leaves, books, and hearts. From a distance, and at smaller sizes, the logo's silhouette clearly marks it as a tree, while a closer look reveals the details.

As a part of this project, I also designed business cards, a letterhead, and built a Squarespace website for the client. Typically, I build client sites in WordPress. In this case, I wanted the website CMS to be as simple and user-friendly as possible to allow the board members to make necessary edits on their own.Â
